From Dashboard to Observatory
How a simple weather dashboard started becoming a real observatory: sensors, data, astronomy context, diagnostics and a clearer project identity.
The project changed shape
At the beginning, the project was mainly a dashboard: show weather, light and astronomy-related information in a clean mobile page.
As more sensors and features were added, the dashboard became only one visible part of a larger system.
What changed
The system now includes sensor nodes, backend APIs, database tables, diagnostics, astronomy calculations and live visual components.
This shift changed the identity of the project. It is no longer just a page; it is an observatory.
The important lesson
A project becomes more valuable when its purpose is clear.
Calling it an observatory helps guide future decisions: every feature should improve observation, telemetry, monitoring or understanding of local sky conditions.
