Adding Weather Telemetry from Netatmo
Using external weather data as a reliable baseline for temperature, humidity, pressure and observation-related environmental indicators.
A reliable environmental baseline
The observatory uses weather telemetry as one of its core layers.
Temperature, humidity and pressure provide the environmental context needed to interpret observation conditions.
Why external weather data is useful
A dedicated weather station provides a stable baseline while custom ESP32 nodes can focus on specific measurements such as light, lightning or future sensors.
This separation keeps the architecture flexible.
From values to indicators
Weather values become more useful when they are transformed into indicators: dew point risk, sky visibility, observation quality and environmental warnings.
That is the direction of the dashboard: not just showing numbers, but explaining conditions.
