Why I Am Building a Public Project Journal

Turning a private technical experiment into a public project log to document decisions, lessons learned and the evolution of the system.

This note is marked as draft. It is part of the public project log, but it may evolve as the observatory changes.

Making the work visible

A technical project can be working and still be invisible.

The journal exists to make decisions, progress and lessons learned visible, not only the final dashboard.

The goal is not to publish perfect articles. The goal is to keep a project log: what changed, why it changed and what was learned.

Short notes are enough if they help explain the evolution of the system.

The journal also shows a way of working: analysis, iteration, documentation, problem solving and incremental delivery.

That is the real value behind the observatory.
